 According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), June 2 witnessed the highest single-day rainfall in June in 133 years. They also confirmed the rainfall received on June 1 and June 2 alone - 140.7 mm - already crossed the monthly average for June.

IMD department has also gave a yellow sign for Delhi as it can experience heatwave in the day and light rains and thunderstrom in the late evening and night. Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh was recorded as the hottest place in the country with a temprature of 46.2 degrees Celsius. The country's heatwave is likely to reduce over the next three days, according to the weather department on June 2.
