The 13-year-old album ‘Speak Now’ was re-recorded and released in the initial week of this month and guess what? Made its place at the top one on Billboard 200 albums chart (dated July 22), marking the largest week for any album this year and which also makes Swift’s 12th album to be at No. 1 by surpassing Barbra Streisand for the most No. 1 albums among women.
Simultaneously, not one or not two but the lady rockstar has now four albums on the Billboard 200’s Top 10 list at the same time. Her last studio album ‘Midnights’ joins the chart at number five, and her seventh studio album ‘Lover’ makes its place at number seven, following ‘Folklore’ the eighth album at number ten.
In the year 1966, Herb Alpert set the record for his four albums to top the list (Going Places at No. 2, Whipped Cream & Other Delights at No. 3, South of the Border at No. 9, and The Lonely Bull at No. 10). Between Alpert and Swift, only one other act has placed at least four titles in the top 10 concurrently, and that was Prince, following his death in 2016, when he had five albums in the top 10 dated May 14, 2016.
