Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com, has responded to the issue sparked by remarks made during comedian Samay Raina's India's Got Latent program. In a LinkedIn post, the Shark Tank India judge stated that YouTube ought to be called before the high court in addition to Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija.
According to Mittal, "I genuinely believe that Ranveer, Apoorva, Samay, and everyone else are victims caught in an unending cycle of provocation for their relevance & survival."
He referred to YouTube as the "worst of all offenders" and called large tech companies the "real culprit."
The true offenders are "Big-tech," who use the laws governing digital intermediaries as a shield to avoid all accountability and responsibility. Imagine a newspaper or a TV channel publishing the type of content that these platforms carry with complete impunity?" Mittal asked.
He went on to explain his position on the matter, calling what transpired on the broadcast "messy, crass, and undeniably wrong."
"The statements & language used are unacceptable in any civilized society,” Mittal wrote. His remarks suggest deeper issues behind the controversy.
