In a revelation that has left Bollywood enthusiasts astonished, Ankita Lokhande, renowned for her television stardom and recent stint on Bigg Boss, has been unveiled as the initial preference for significant Bollywood productions. The actress, who gained fame with her remarkable performances on the small screen, was reportedly the first choice for pivotal roles in several magnum opus films.
Among the list of blockbuster movies that Ankita Lokhande was offered are Ram-Leela, Happy New Year, Sultan, Badlapur, and Bajirao Mastani. Ankita had the opportunity to feature in these iconic films, each of which went on to become a cinematic spectacle in its own right. But why did Ankita Lokhande reject them?
Once, in an interview, Ankita Lokhande had revealed that she had given up on films like Happy New Year, Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani at the time that she was dating Sushant.
She once said, "I gave up on Happy New Year. I remember Farah (Khan) ma’am had offered me the film and I had also met Shah Rukh (Khan) sir who said 'I will try to give you the best debut'. And I was like, okay, but at the back of my mind, trust me... I was in Macau. Me, Sushant and Shah Rukh sir, we were sitting, and I was like, ‘Bhagwan, mera na ho (God, I hope I don’t get it).’ Ladki kaisi hoti hai na, she always tries ki, nahi yaar, mere partner ka achcha ho. (A girl always wants the best for her partner). That's what you think.”

And she has no regret about anything, she added, “Till today, I have no regrets. I was trying to build a man and I did that. I was trying to be a very strong support for Sushant, and I did it. But then I realised, ‘No, yaar. Main bhi toh kuch hoon (I am also somebody).’ After my break-up, I understood my value. It is very important to understand your worth. Then I realised that I should work on myself, it is important. Even though I was doing Pavitra (Rishta), people still had that perception about me that she wants to quit working,” she said.
Adding to Lokhande's statement, the interviewer then said that the perception existed perhaps because of the fact that she didn't do films like Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Sultan. To this, Ankita added, "I remember Sanjay (Leela Bhansali) sir called me and said, ‘Kar le ye Bajirao varna yaad rakh pachtayegi tu (Say yes to Bajirao Mastani or you will regret it later)'. He was literally praising me and coming from Sanjay sir it is a very big thing. Then I was like, ‘Nahi sir, mujhe shaadi karni hai (No, sir. I want to get married)'. I still remember that and he did not have anything to say, and I quit on it. ”

"I did not know how to balance it that time. It is very important to balance, career is career and family is family. Apne aap ko kho mat kisi cheez ke liye," she added.
And in the same interview, Ankita also revealed that Varun Dhawan had also called her for a role in Badlapur. However, the actress had turned that role down.
We wish her more such great films and success in life!
