There's been a lot of discussion about the Champions Trophy 2025 being held in Pakistan and what that could mean for India's involvement in the tournament. Due to political tensions, India and Pakistan haven't played a bilateral series in over ten years, and they only meet during international competitions.
While Pakistan did visit India for the 2023 ODI World Cup, India has yet to announce its plans for the Champions Trophy. Reports suggest that Lahore is set to host the final, but according to a Telegraph.co.uk article, the final could be moved to Dubai if the Indian cricket team qualifies for it. The report also mentioned that India could play all their matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) if they choose not to travel to Pakistan.
Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed confidence that the tournament will be fully held in Pakistan. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has voiced optimism that the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will be successfully hosted in Pakistan, with all participating teams, including India, expected to take part.
Scheduled from February 19 to March 9, the Champions Trophy will be played in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Naqvi highlighted that preparations for the event are on track, with ongoing enhancements to the stadiums. Speaking in Lahore, he addressed the uncertainty surrounding India's participation but remained hopeful about their involvement in the tournament.
