Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya showcased his skills with both bat and ball as the team, led by Rohit Sharma, triumphed over Bangladesh in the first T20I match in Gwalior on Sunday. Hardik scored an impressive unbeaten 39 runs off just 16 balls and achieved bowling figures of 1/26, making him the standout performer for India.

His performance garnered significant praise from fans and analysts alike; however, former Indian fast bowler RP Singh expressed that Bangladesh may not be the ideal opponents to assess his true form. “Evaluating a player's true form based on their performance against Bangladesh, in my opinion, isn’t the best approach. The way they are currently playing isn’t at the highest standard,” RP Singh, an analyst for Jio Cinema, stated to the media.

“Hardik performed well, and he has the ability to do so. But I believe it’s not appropriate to use a match against this team as a benchmark. Perhaps do that against a stronger team or in a more competitive setting.” In addition to his batting, Hardik significantly contributes to the bowling lineup as a fast bowler. RP Singh noted that it was encouraging to see him bowl his full quota of four overs in the match against Bangladesh, which he regarded as a positive development for Rohit Sharma and the team.

“It’s great to see Hardik Pandya bowling four overs. There has always been uncertainty about whether he could complete his full quota, but he is managing that well now. His batting has always been strong, but he has made notable improvements in his bowling and fitness. I don’t think we should get overly excited based solely on performances against the Bangladesh team. There are many real challenges still ahead,” he added.
