Know Why Rajamouli Created Bahubali Prequel In Animation

Bahubali Franchise starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubatti, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishana and directed by S.S Rajamouli is one of the most loved films from South India. The franchise has created many games and VR series to connect with the audience. The new animated series ‘Bahubali: Crown of Blood’ has been created by Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks production.

At a recent press conference, S.S. Rajamouli revisited this beloved series and talked the process of making the spin off series. He also talked about the differences between films made in west and in India, he says, “In the west, there is a way that if anything is created, but in India, if a film does well, it does well, it finishes with that, we didn’t want to do that”.

The series is created by Sharad Devaranjan, CEO and co-founder of Graphic India. Rajamouli also talks about Sharad and his passion for making animation big in India, since Indian animation doesn’t go beyond children’s media. Rajamouli had long discussions with Sharad, because it was very difficult for him to break himself from Bahubali. He gradually let go but before doing that, he took them through the process how they made Bahubali. He adds, “There is soul of Bahubali that resonated with Indian audience, and tried to explain them what the soul was.”

The animated series titled ‘Bahubali: Crown of Blood’ releases on Disney+ Hotstar on May 17.
