One of a kind film where so many Bollywood stars have joined their hands to make an impact and yes, they have succeeded. Rohit Shetty has a classy ambition with his impressive and high-octane cop universe. This time with the OG Singham again, Rohit Shetty & Ajay Devgn have proved why they are one of the best when it comes to mass films. Even though the film has gotten tough competition at the box office, the grandeur of the film is beyond that.
Singham Again starts with the nuances from the previous addition in the cop universe, Sooryavanshi, with Bajirao Singham going after Umar (Jackie Shroff) all the way to Kashmir. The real story starts after the arrest of Umar. This time Rohit Shetty & Co. took us on a south tour from Madurai, Rameshwaram to Sri Lanka. The timeline follows the resemblance of Ramayana.
Ramayana Touch:
The Ramayana scenes shown in the movie are one of the best audiovisual presentations till date. Even dedicated movies, on Ramayana couldn't pull off this level of the visuals that Singham Again has, though they haven't gone all the way to showcase Ramayana, but the feel they bring to the screen is surreal. Now talking about the Ramayana touch; what a way to connect this mythological epic into a crime rescue mission. The screenplay, the timeline & the elements, everything falls in place & it doesn't feel like the Ramayana has been imposed on the story forcefully. Massy films are made to connect with people on an emotional level & Shetty & Co. knows that well.
Performance:
Whom shall we talk about first? There are so many superstars in the film and all have done their part well. Starting with the superior, Singham (Ajay Devgn), is nothing but remains the OG. When Ajay gets into Singham's shoes, he shows us he is the real cop. From dialogue to action, his aura is everywhere. Talking about Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan)- she is the glamdoll of this universe. Kareena resembles Sita Maa according to the theme of the film and she plays herself effortlessly. Arjun Kapoor, on the other hand, is so tough, so wild & in a never-seen avatar ever. He is the core of the film and comes out as a stronger force against so many heroes. After legendary gray character Jaykant Shikre from the first movie (Singham) Arjun Kapoor's 'Danger Lanka' is the second most powerful villain of this universe.
Multiverse:
Back then, when Sooryavanshi released, Singham & Simba came together in the climax. The tables turned around this time as the whole cop universe came to the rescue for Singham and this, it's not just the trio, but Rohit Shetty introduced two more characters, Shakti Shetty played by Deepika Padukone & Satya played by Tiger Shroff. This multiverse of madness went on a riot when they became one force fighting against evil.
Deepika as Shakti Shetty did her part quite descent. Nothing like how much she was trolled when the trailer was released. She was hardly there for a few scenes early in the film and joined back in the climax with comparatively fewer dialouges. On the other hand, Tiger as Satya has really given us some content. He looks dapper as the young cop. Tiger is known for his action, stunts & killer moves and he has nailed all of them in this one. Ranveer Singh stole the show with his comic timing and a crucial appearance. He has a lot more in the film than all the other cameos and supporting cast. Akshay's entry is quite late in the climax, but again, another stellar entry & his overall appearance makes it countable.
As a regular moviegoer, if you have watched the 5-minute-long trailer and updated about all the happenings around Singham Again, you won't be surprised with the entries of the cameos, as the only flaw of the film is that Rohit Shetty & co. showed too much in the trailer that cameos of Akshay, Deepika felt like nothing. The post credit scene of Chulbul Pandey aka Salman Khan is a crunch and this crossover is going to be the next anticipation in the cop universe.
