PM Modi & President Putin discuss the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a conversation regarding the Russian-Ukraine’s ongoing conflict, after his recent visit to Ukraine.

Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a conversation regarding the Russian-Ukraine’s ongoing conflict, after his recent visit to Ukraine.

PM Modi made a post on the social media platform X and wrote, “Spoke with President Putin today. Discussed measures to further strengthen Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. Exchanged perspectives on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and my insights from the recent visit to Ukraine. Reiterated India’s firm commitment to support an early, abiding and peaceful resolution of the conflict.”

The Ministry of External Affairs put forward some key points from the conversation in a press release. The statement read, "The PM recalled his successful visit to Russia last month to participate in the 22nd India-Russia Bilateral Summit.The two leaders reviewed progress on a number of bilateral issues and discussed measures to further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia. They also exchanged views on a range of regional and global issues of mutual interest."

It further said, "The two leaders exchanged views on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Prime Minister shared insights from his recent visit to Ukraine. He underlined the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as well as sincere and practical engagement between all stakeholders to achieve an abiding and peaceful resolution of the conflict.”

Just a day earlier, PM Modi had a conversation with US President Joe Biden, and wrote about it on X, “Spoke to Joe Biden, on phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for early return of peace and stability. We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed on the need for early restoration of normalcy, and ensuring the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh.”
