This confused many people, leading them to speculate that the man was named after the character. However, this rumor is untrue and should be debunked. The person in the photo is actually Hajime Moriyasu.

Fandomwire also claimed that the photo was actually from 2022 but resurfaced during the 2024 Olympics. The coach reportedly gained the nickname after Japan defeated Germany and Spain in the FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022.
