On Friday night, Israel launched over 70 rockets as part of a targeted surprise attack on Iran’s Capital, Tehran. The USA came forward, claiming that they were aware of this attack and it was a part of self-defence.
Israel launched rockets over multiple locations in Iran, but most of it was targeted towards its capital, Tehran. The rockets primarily targeted its military and drone facilities present in the capital. The Iranian Government confirmed limited damage, but they haven’t reported any casualties. They also assured that their Air Defence System is still integrated and functional, something they believe Israel wanted to target the most.

While Malaysia and Saudi Arabia have condemned this attack, the United States Defense Department issued a statement restating their commitment towards Israel. They came forward claiming that they were aware of Israel’s plan to attack Iran but chose not to participate in the attack. They reaffirmed their support for Israel’s security and right to Self-Defence.
The statement also claims that the attack came because Iran and terrorist organisations backed by it emerged as a threat to Israel and all its neighbouring countries. Washington referred to this attack as an ‘exercise of self-defence.’
Israel later launched multiple missiles in Lebanon, targeting around 70 Hezbollah sites. Iran momentarily shut its airspace, cancelling all fights, but it reopened its airspace for air traffic after the attacks ended.
