BookMyShow lodged an FIR on 2 October regarding the illegal ticket scaling and black marketing of Coldplay’s Music of the Sphere World Tour’s India tickets. The ticketing platform has warned about the possible cancellation of all unauthorised tickets sold outside the platform.
A spokesperson of BookMyShow made a statement, "This action follows our initial complaint filed proactively with the Mumbai Police on September 23, addressing these concerns much before any formal complaint was raised against us," they said.

They added, "We have provided details of all resellers that have come to our attention, including independent individuals reselling tickets for this tour across social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp and beyond, as also digital platforms such as Viagogo, Stubhub Holdings and more, to aid authorities in a thorough investigation."
According to the spokesperson, they have turned in all the information regarding resellers are aware of and are constantly monitoring. The spokesperson said, “BookMyShow is assessing the potential cancellation of such tickets that are being sold- unethically." The ticketing platform has stayed put on its stance on condemning the reselling of tickets.
Clarifying the doubts regarding the show, “We would also like to clarify that Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India will proceed as planned. Reports contrary to this are factually incorrect," said the spokesperson, assuring fans who have already brought the tickets through the app.
The British band will perform in Mumbai’s D. Y. Patil Stadium on 18, 19 and 21 January 2025. The tickets for the show were quickly sold out, after which many resellers appeared in the market, reselling the tickets for a much higher price.
