Tech giants Google and Nvidia announced plans to increase engagement in the country, especially in Artificial Intelligence. The news comes after Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met Prime Minister Modi at a round table meeting during his three-day US Visit.
On Sunday at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, PM Modi hosted a meeting with US-based Tech Companies leaders in artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors. Both Pichai and Huang praised PM Modi’s ‘Digital India’ initiative. They also appreciated his keen interest in integrating AI in healthcare, agriculture and education.

“The Prime Minister has been clear in his vision, aiming to ensure that AI serves the people of India. He is pushing us to explore ways AI can revolutionise sectors like healthcare and education while ensuring the infrastructure to support this transition," Pichai stated after the meeting. He also noted that Google is committed to ramping up its AI investments in India. He also said that PM Modi has emphasised the application of AI in the local market.
“India is home to some of the world's brightest minds, and AI presents a tremendous opportunity for the country," said Huang. He believes India can lead in the AI sector due to the country’s talent pool of computer Scientists and startups. Nvidia is planning to scale up its investment in India through partnership.
