Mumbai’s first underground metro line, also known as the Aqua Line, is set to be inaugurated on 5 October, connecting Aarey and Bandra Kurla Complex. The Mumbai Metro Line 3 reduces traffic within the city significantly.
The 33.7-kilometre stretch of the metro line runs through the centre of the city, consisting of 27 stations connecting Colaba in the South to Aarey in the North. Out of which, 12.2 kilometres of the line will become operational for the public a day after the inauguration, i.e. 6 October.

The first phase of the metro line consists of 9 stations starting from Seepz, MIDC Andheri, Marol Naka, CSMIA T2, Sahar Road, CSMIA T1, Santacruz, Bandra Colony and BKC. The line forms an interchange at Marol Naka Station of Line 1, which runs between Ghatkopar and Versova.
The tickets for the trip between Seepz and Marol Naka are set at Rs. 20 for people going to Airport T1, tickets will cost Rs. 30. From the airport onwards, Rs. 40 is charged till Bandra Colony. The first train is scheduled for 06:30 AM and the last to leave the station at 10:30 PM.
Metro Line 3 is going to take off traffic from JVLR, Western Express Highway and Western Suburban Line.
