Former Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra shared the news of his marriage to Himani Mor on Sunday. He posted many pictures from the intimate ceremony on social media. The wedding, which was attended by around 40-50 close guests, took place in Himachal.
"Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after," Neeraj captioned his post. As this couple begins this new chapter, the two-time Olympic medalist also sought support & blessings from his fans. Himani, 25, is a tennis player from Sonipat and she attended Little Angels School.
For now, she is pursuing a Master's Degree in Sports Management (Major) at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. She finished her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Physical Education at Delhi’s Miranda House. Himani has a brother named Himanshu, who is also a tennis player.
Himani competed at the 2017 World University Games in Taipei after she represented Delhi University at the national level. According to her school website, she also earned a gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Tennis Championship in Malaysia. "Yes, the marriage took place in India two days back. I can't tell the place where it took place," Bhim told everyone from his village at Khandra near Panipat in Haryana.
"The girl is from Sonipat and she is studying in the US. They have left the country for honeymoon and I am not aware of the places where they are going. We wanted to keep it like that," stated Neeraj's paternal uncle Bhim Chopra, who lives with the Olympic double medallist at Khandra, when asked about the surprise development.
As per the All India Tennis Association (AITA) website, Himani's highest national ranking was 42 in singles & 27 in doubles in 2018. She began playing AITA events in the year 2018. Amherst College in Massachusetts also lists her as an assistant coach for the women's tennis team, as most of the students typically engage in additional work while studying.
