CCTV Footage Reveals Deadly Blast in Pakistan's Railway Station

A suspected suicide explosion by an ethnic militant organization struck a packed railway station in Pakistan's troubled Balochistan state this morning, which resulted in 25 fatalities and injuring 46 others.

Among the victims were at least 14 soldiers, according to the police reports. CCTV camera captured the scene of many individuals waiting on the platform when the detonation occurred at Quetta's main railway station.

The chaotic scene showed bodies scattered across the platform, with the roof blown off, and blood was visible everywhere as rescue workers sifted through left-behind luggage in search of all the survivors.

The bomb blast took place just as the Jaffer express was preparing to depart for Peshawar, noted a senior police official, who stated that the incident  appeared to be a suicide bombing. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), an ethnic militant group active in the area, has taken full responsibility for this attack.

According to some reports, the explosion happened at the station's ticket counter. Law enforcement secured the perimeter as soon as possible and transported the injured to the civil hospital in Quetta, as stated by provincial government spokesperson Shahid Rind.

Authorities reported that at least 46 individuals were admitted to the hospital after the explosion. The hospital declared an emergency and requested additional medical staff to aid in treating the injured ones.

Balochistan's Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has mandated an immediate investigation and denounced the assault as "a horrific act" aimed at innocent citizens. "The terrorists' aim now is innocent people, workers, children, and women. Those who attack the innocent are unworthy of compassion," he elaborated, as reported by Dawn.
