WTF News: 16-Year-Old Student Gives Birth to Stillborn Baby in Andhra Pradesh Hostel

A 16-year-old first-year intermediate student from Andhra Pradesh gave birth to a stillborn baby in the bathroom of a government girls' hostel at Kothapatnam, Prakasam district. The student, who had been residing at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostel for the past two months, was reportedly not known to be pregnant by the school authorities.

The incident occurred on July 31, when the girl complained of severe stomach pain. She was taken to the bathroom, where she gave birth to the stillborn baby. Her absence from class prompted a search, leading to the discovery of the baby by a lady lecturer.

Kothapatnam Circle Inspector Jagadish reported that the police were informed and the girl was subsequently taken to RIMS hospital in Ongole for medical attention. A case has been filed, and an individual from Cheemakurthi Mandal is suspected of involvement in the incident.
