From last month, many rape cases have been registered, leaving our community shaken and desperate for change. In Pune, a recent brutal assault on a 19-year-old woman has added another dark chapter to this disturbing trend, fueling the urgent call for justice.
Two individuals have been arrested in Pune on allegations of Forcing a 19-year-old woman into a filmed intimate encounter with her cousin. The victim was reportedly raped and had her gold locket, valued at Rs 10,000, stolen. A report stated that a Pune court has remanded the accused in police custody until March 7.
According to the police, two individuals, identified as Amol Pote (25) and Kishore Kale (29), have been accused of rape and robbery in Shirur taluka, Pune district, on Saturday night. Inspector Mahadev Waghmode from Ranjangaon Police Station stated on Monday that the accused arrived on a scooter and, armed with a sharp knife, threatened the victim and her cousin while they were conversing in a secluded area.
The perpetrators allegedly forced the woman and her cousin into an inappropriate act, recorded the incident on video, and then sexually assaulted her. Before fleeing, they also took her gold locket, valued at Rs 10,000, Waghmode added.
