Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where he took a sacred dip at the Sangam. He was joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) highlighted that the Prime Minister has always been dedicated to preserving and promoting India's spiritual and cultural legacy. As part of this commitment, he has taken continuous initiatives to improve infrastructure and amenities at major pilgrimage destinations.
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 13, stands as the largest spiritual and cultural gathering in the world, drawing devotees from all over the globe. The festival will run until Mahashivratri on February 26. Prominent political figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, have attended the grand event. In addition, international personalities such as Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of Steve Jobs, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Hollywood actress Dakota Johnson have also visited the Maha Kumbh.
