In other developments, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has completed two rounds of polygraph tests on Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Lie detection tests were also conducted on the primary suspect, Sanjoy Roy.

The Calcutta High Court has granted the CBI three weeks to submit a progress report on the investigation into the RG Kar hospital and associated financial irregularities, with the report due by September 17.
