Ahead of the upcoming wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, Nita and Mukesh Ambani organized a collective marriage ceremony for over 50 economically disadvantaged couples on Tuesday. Here’s the lowdown on this heartening occasion.
The group wedding was held at the Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, with attendance from more than 800 individuals representing the couples’ families. Nita and Mukesh Ambani, along with Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, as well as Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, honored the event with their presence.
In a video, ANI captioned, "Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani attended the collective wedding ceremony for underprivileged individuals, organized as part of the festivities surrounding the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant." Each couple received gold jewelry such as mangalsutras, wedding rings, and nose rings, as well as silver ornaments like toe rings and anklets. Furthermore, each bride was presented with a check of Rs 1,00,001 lakh as her 'streedhan.'
The couples were also given a year's supply of groceries and household necessities, comprising 36 essential items, kitchenware, appliances such as a cooking range, blender, and fan, as well as a mattress and pillows.
