The National Testing Agency (NTA) briefly posted the final answer key for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 (Paper 1 - B.E./B.Tech) on Thursday, but the document was taken down from the official website within one Hour, causing confusion among aspiring candidates. This action followed various reports which indicated that the agency had received numerous complaints regarding major errors identified in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Mains.
The issue originated from students in Rajasthan's Kota, known as the JEE coaching hub of the country, who pointed out multiple errors in the questions after the provisional answer keys, question paper, and response sheets were made available on April 11.
Students have highlighted at least 9 contested questions across the physics, chemistry, & mathematics papers. Reviews from prominent institutes have also supported these claims.
"The NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness. The answer key challenge process is a key part of ensuring a fair and reliable system for all candidates. The purpose of the 'answer key challenge' process is to remove any anomaly and ensure fairness," the NTA said.
Anyhow, the agency retracted the final answer key within 1 hour after its release on Thursday.
