The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, has provided confirmation in response to rising concerns about purported mistakes in the provisional answer key for the 2nd Session of the test.
In a statement posted on the social media platform twitter, the agency said, "NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness."
The agency elaborated that the "Answer Key Challenge" process is intended to ensure fairness by letting students contest any discrepancies they see. "The answer key challenge process is a key part of ensuring a fair and reliable system for all candidates," the post said.
In its statement, the NTA confirmed that the answer keys released thus far for JEE (Main) Session 2 are provisional & not final. "Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable," the agency added further.
NTA has also advised candidates to "not be misled by reports that create unnecessary doubt and anxiety." This clarification follows several claims from students, parents, & coaching institutes regarding alleged discrepancies in the provisional answer key, which includes what they assert to be nine factual errors—four in Physics, three in Chemistry, and two in Mathematics. Students have also raised their concerns on X, with some claiming inconsistencies between their answer sheets and the questions they believe to have attempted.
