From the get-go, the film jumps into Hanno's life and the conflict that triggers the plot. Each character was established one at a time and defined by their actions, which gave the viewers the time to connect with them. While Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal were at the core, Joseph Quinn shined in the role of Emperor Geta. His portrayal of a power-hungry maniac is different from his previous roles, and he still managed to deliver. While anything  Pascal touches turns to gold, he goes hand in hand with Paul Mescal, and both are perfect for their character.

The film captured the grandeur of Ancient Rome in the most cinematic way possible, all thanks to Director Ridley Scott. His vision for the movie made it a truly immersive experience. It's his master shots that stole the cake. Not only did they set the location of the scene, but they also conveyed the intensity of the situation.

The first half was compact, leading to a perfect build, which was beyond perfect. However, the second half took the viewers on a rollercoaster ride. During the second half of the film, it felt like the film had multiple climaxes. From anticlimactic Colosseum fights to pointless murders, the movie, in a way, loses trace of the main plot in order to show multiple stories. Within every ten minutes, it felt like a new climax, which was a bit uncomfortable to watch.

However, the most uncomfortable part was the ending, it's unsatisfying and feels incomplete. They could be planning to continue the story forward with other projects, but a few more scenes to end a film on a solid note wouldn’t hurt.

But where it lacked, its background score balanced it out. It was music that added value to the situation and elevated the stakes. Along with the music, it was also the set and costume that was on point.

Overall, the film should be watched in theatres to enjoy the epic, but it could have been better if there had been some work on its storyline. Gladiator 2 is now in theatres across the world.
