Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee was a balanced mix of horror and comedy but lacked in its storytelling part.
Director Anees Bazmee showcased his exceptional directing skills with the screenplay of this film. Even though we expected jump scares, he was able to hide them exceptionally well in every scene. He kept his cards close, revealing them one at a time, when needed, and saved the trump card for the end. The way every scene was shot was a pleasure to the eyes.

A scene is empty without actors, and this film gathered the best of them on the screen. Kartik Aaryan in the lead as Rooh Baba was a delight to watch. Most of his punchlines landed so smoothly but he shined during the intense dramatic scenes. However, the crown goes to the legendary actors Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, they brought true horror to this film. Madhuri who got very limited screen time, made sure to make the best out of it. Unfortunately, Triptii Dimri’s Meera got lost somewhere in the mix, but she still managed to shine wherever she took centre stage.
If the main cast shined, the supporting cast devoured them, Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadhav and Ashwini Kalsekar were more than just supporting characters. They, along with Madhuri and Vidya, in a way carried the whole film on their back.
Another thing that carried the film and made it interesting was the background score, it was very catchy and captivating. The acting and the background music are what kept the audience interested. However the songs in the film are not as good as the background, they seem to serve no purpose to the plot.
The exceptional acting by the actors and the background score kept the audience stuck to the screen till the grand climax. But where the film had massive potential, it lacked a solid storyline. The story in the first half was simple but it started to get hazy in the second half. So the massive twist in the climax felt flat but it was jaw-dropping. If only they spent a little more time carving out the story, it would have been a banger.
Overall the film is very balanced and fun to watch with the family. But the end of the movie also gives out a very important message to the audience. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is now in theatres across the country for you to enjoy.
