This review encompasses all categories of US visas, both immigrant & non-immigrant, which includes those for students & tourists, & applies to people who have been in Gaza in an official or diplomatic role.

Furthermore, employees and volunteers affiliated with non-governmental organizations will also undergo this screening process. The main aim of this review is to identify potential security threats, & should any concerning information related to security issues be found, the applicant's visa application will be sent for an interagency investigation to examine whether the applicant represents a national security threat.

Rubio previously stated that his office had revoked over 300 visas since the start of the year, including those of student visa holders who have voiced criticism toward Israel’s actions in Gaza. This action has sparked concerns, as the US Constitution safeguards freedom of speech for people within the United States, irrespective of their visa status.
