Outcry Against GOLD MEDALIST: Disgust Over Statement to Kim Sae Ron’s Mother

Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, has ignited a firestorm of criticism with its recent response to the controversy surrounding allegations and threats from Kim Sae Ron’s family and the Garo Sero Institute YouTube channel. The company’s official statement on March 15 has sparked intense backlash online.

The uproar began when the Garo Sero Institute claimed to possess and threatened to release explicit images of Kim Soo Hyun allegedly taken in late actress Kim Sae Ron’s kitchen. GOLD MEDALIST confirmed that the images in question were from December 14, 2019, and strongly urged against their public exposure.

“There is no justifiable reason for indiscriminately exposing private photos of Mr. Kim Soo Hyun and the deceased,” the statement read.

However, instead of solely addressing the privacy violation issue, the agency also directed comments towards Kim Sae Ron’s mother. While acknowledging her claims, GOLD MEDALIST suggested there might be undisclosed details and invited her to a meeting for further explanations.

“We believe there may be aspects that she was not yet aware of. Publicly debating these matters is not an appropriate way to honor the deceased or the mother’s efforts to restore their dignity. Instead, our management team would like to meet with Ms. Kim Sae Ron’s mother to provide a thorough explanation.”

This approach has backfired spectacularly, provoking widespread condemnation. Many critics viewed the agency’s statement as audacious and insensitive, particularly for contacting the grieving mother while seemingly trying to justify their position. Far from calming tensions, GOLD MEDALIST’s response has only exacerbated public outrage, with netizens accusing the agency of being manipulative and disrespectful.
