Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Denies Allegations of Forcing Sulli for Explicit Scenes in “Real”

Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency Gold Medalist, new allegations have surfaced regarding the late actor Sulli's involvement in the 2017 movie Real. Sulli, also known as Choi Jin Ri, was embroiled in controversy over an explicit scene in the film, with claims that she was coerced into performing it without a body double.

Gold Medalist has issued a comprehensive statement addressing these allegations, asserting that Sulli was fully informed about the scene before agreeing to the role. According to the agency, all details, including script excerpts and visual references of the nudity level required, were communicated to Sulli and her agency at the time. They emphasized "that discussing such scenes only after casting could place undue pressure or create a sense of being coerced for the actor.”

Responding to Sulli's brother Choi Da Hee's questions about the use of a body double, Gold Medalist clarified that, “There was no acting body double. A stand-in was used only for camera positioning and blocking, but not for the actual filming,” They supported their stance with statements from key production staff who were present during the filming, asserting that Kim Soo Hyun had no involvement in the decision-making or filming process beyond his acting role.

Addressing the allegations of attempting to silence Sulli's family, Gold Medalist vehemently denied any such actions, stating that they "have never contacted the late actress’s mother and do not have her contact information.”

They cautioned against spreading unverified claims and urged respect for the facts surrounding past events, particularly those deeply affecting the late actor's memory.

“We understand that one may be curious about the truth of certain statements heard at the funeral. However, bringing up an event from over six years ago now, and posting things on social media as if they were personal experiences when they are not factual, is difficult for us to accept.”
