Kim Soo Hyun Faces Renewed Criticism Amid Kim Sae Ron’s Alleged Past Relationship with K-Pop Idol WOODZ

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is once again under public scrutiny following new rumors about the late actress Kim Sae Ron's past relationship with K-pop idol WOODZ. The speculation has reignited debates over Kim Soo Hyun's alleged involvement with Kim Sae Ron during her underage years.

The controversy began when YouTuber Lee Jin Ho released a video claiming that Kim Sae Ron had dated a singer in the early 2020s. He suggested that she sent a coffee truck to the singer during a music video shoot. Although the image of the truck was blurred, netizens quickly matched it to an unedited photo featuring WOODZ (also known as Seungyoun), a third-generation K-pop idol. While Lee Jin Ho didn't name anyone, the visual clues led many to believe WOODZ was the alleged ex-boyfriend.

According to the video, the alleged relationship occurred after Kim Sae Ron reached adulthood, from early 2021 to around May 2022. Despite the growing attention, WOODZ's agency, EDAM Entertainment, has not released any official response. Media outlets, including EDaily, reported that repeated attempts to contact several representatives went unanswered.

The reported silence and media coverage caused another shift in public reactions, with Korean netizens expressing frustration, particularly focused on actor Kim Soo Hyun. Comments on online forums highlighted the age difference between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, contrasting it with the smaller gap between her and WOODZ. One user noted, "WOODZ dated her after she became an adult, so what's the problem?" Another commented, "Kim Soo Hyun was born in '88, so there's a 12-year age gap."

Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, has previously denied allegations of an underage relationship between the actor and Kim Sae Ron.They stated that the two began dating between the summer of 2019 and fall of 2020, after she became an adult. The agency also addressed evidence presented by Garo Sero Institute, such as a photos Kim Soo Hyun sent to Kim Sae Ron during his military service, asserting that it was a friendly correspondence and not indicative of a romantic relationship.
