In an ongoing meeting on Friday, PM Modi and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed amongst themselves the Russia-Ukraine conflict in "considerable detail." Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that India elaborated it is "not neutral" in the conflict and is only on the "side of peace."
This meeting followed PM Modi’s participation in the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, where he reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy are the only proper paths to resolve the quarrel, especially in relation to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Misri confirmed that both the Russia-Ukraine situation and the conflict in West Asia were very crucial topics of conversation. PM Modi shared insights from his recent interactions with leaders from both Russia and Ukraine, detailing India's peace efforts and discussions with all parties included in the situation.
He noted that India is totally prepared to support any peace initiatives, leveraging its ability to involve with all sides. PM Modi had earlier stated at the BRICS Summit that India advocates for dialogue & diplomacy over warfare.
