Months after the release of cult classic Mirzapur season 3, the creators of the show, Puneet Krishna, announced an adaptation of the show in a theatrical film. Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee and Divyenndu will be reprising their roles from the show.
Mirzapur is a cult classic and deeply embedded within the Indian pop culture scene with just 3 seasons. It was previously rumoured that Hrithik Roshan will play the character of Kaleem Bhai, played by Pankaj Tripathi. However, the announcement video released by Prime Video on X (formerly Twitter) confirms the original cast returning for the film.

The film is produced by Excel Entertainment Production, who released a statement saying, “It is a landmark milestone for us to bring the quintessential Mirzapur experience to our audiences, yet again, but this time on the big screen. Over the course of three successful seasons, this acclaimed franchise has struck all the right chords with fans through its powerful storytelling and memorable characters – from the likes of Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya, to name a few."
They believe that adapting a series like this into a film will create a far more captivating experience for the audience, taking them deep into the world of Mirzapur. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the film is scheduled to release in 2026. After its release in theatres across the nation, the movie will be available to stream on Prime Video.
