A New Era, A New Croft!! Sophie Turner To Replace Angelina Jolie!!

Since Amazon announced a live-action series of the game series Tomb Raider, several names went up in the air for the iconic role of Lara Croft. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is said to be cast, replacing Angelina Jolie.

Reports claim that the deal is not yet signed, but they are close to getting it finalised. Amazon announced the series earlier this year with Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the writer and executive producer. Turner is not the only high-profile artist who was running for this role. Mackenzie Davis, Emma Mackey and Lucy Boynton were also in talks for the role. 

While talking about the series, the writer Phoebe said, “If I could tell my teenage self this was happening, I think she'd explodeTomb Raider has been a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can't wait to go on this adventure. Bats 'n all.” 

Sophie is known for her role as Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones and X-Men’s Jean Grey, aka Dark Phoenix. Lara Croft is a British archaeologist from the game Tomb Raider, previously played by Angelina Jolie in two films and Alicia Vikander in another one.
