In the fixture against Lucknow Super Giants at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, KL Rahul and co. never saw the driving seat. Winning the toss Lucknow opted bat first going with the similar formula that other teams applied against Hyderabad. But, this time Pat Cummins was ready for the target. Firstly, on the pitch where we saw the highest run scores in the T20 history LSG could only score 165 runs. Their top order failed completely with KL Rahul scoring 29 runs in 33 balls with just 1 four and 1 six, De Kock & Stoinis could score only 2 & 3 respectively.

While chasing, Abhishek Sharma & Travis Head came with a pack of surprises and huge firecrackers. The duo chased the target easily in just 9.4 overs. They scored the highest ever runs in first 10 overs of the inning in the history of IPL that too with two balls remaining. Abhishek Sharma scored 75 off just 28 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes and the strike rate of 267.86 while Travis Head scored 89 off just 30 balls with 8 fours & 8 sixes and the strike rate of 296.67.

In the post-match presentation here's what the duo said:

Abhishek Sharma: I would never think of coming to such a tournament and playing at such a strike rate, but thanks to the team management. The message was clear from them and I backed myself. All the credit goes to him (Head). The way he starts against all bowlers.. he goes after them from the start and takes the pressure off. The bowlers told us (during the innings break) that it was getting better, but myself and Travis thought it was not doing much. I think the hard work I put in before the tournament is showing now, thanks to Yuvi Paaji, Brian (Lara) as well and my father, who is my first coach.

Travis Head | Player of the Match: Lot of fun today. Nice to get this done in 10 overs. Abhi and I have had a few partnerships like this. Just concentrate on getting in good positions, watch the ball hard and try to maximise the powerplay. (On his spin hitting) It is something I have been working on, it will be a big part in the Caribbean as well. It is important to go 360 in the modern game. (On fearless cricket) The last 12 months, that's how they wanted me to play in the Aussie team, and that's what I've been told to do here as well. Nothing much that I have to change.
