On July 4, the Indian Cricket team met PM Modi at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi soon after their arrival in the country after winning the T20 World Cup. In a newly released video, PM Modi is seen interacting with every player and praised Rishabh Pant for his performance.
Rishabh Pant had a life threatening accident in 2022, and it took him 1.5 years to recover from it. PM Modi called Pant an inspiration for his extraordinary recovery and even said he watched Rishab's posts about his recovery.
While talking about the recovery, Pant said, "It was a tough time and I had a lot of things on my mind and when you (PM Modi), called my mother and said there is no problem and everything will be fine, I became mentally calm and relaxed. I used to hear from a lot of people whether I'll be able to play cricket or not, if it were a batsman it would have been easier, but it is difficult for a wicket keeper. But all I thought was of doing better than I already did. I wanted to prove to myself, dedicate everything to practicing and play international matches again to make India win."
While talking about Pant's mother, PM Modi said, "She was very confident, and in fact she was consoling me. That time I knew that a person who is blessed with such a mother will definitely achieve something big."
