Rishabh Pant Returns to Indian Camp after Recovering from Covid-19


India’s emerging Wicketkeeper Batsman Rishabh Pant joins Indian test squad in the Durham on Wednesday after recovering from Covid-19.

Pant who is in England with Indian test team for the 4 match tour next month tested positive for dreaded Covid-19 on July 8. The BCCI confirmed Pant’s arrival on their official Twitter account. “Hello @RishabhPant17, great to have you back,” wrote the BCCI.

On the other side team India is underway their first warm-up match against County selected XI. In Pant’s absence, KL Rahul assumed wicketkeeping responsibility in the ongoing three-day match. Rahul on the day 1 slammed a ton of 101 runs, went retired out.

The Indian Test team will return to action in the five-match series against England, which begins on August 4. The first Test takes place at Trent Bridge.

Earlier, the Indian bowlers shined in the practice game against CSXI, leaving the side at 220/9 at the end of day 2. Umesh Yadav was the most impressive of the lot, ending with figures of 3/22 in 15 overs. Mohammed Siraj picked two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah also had a wicket to his name.
