Indian star cricketers, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & Jasprit Bumrah are likely to join the team ahead of the last match while Shubhman Gill & Shardul Thakur may rest for the same and meet Indian team directly into Worldcup.
Despite regular captain Rohit Sharma and veteran batsmen Virat Kohli the young team led by KL Rahul succeed to defeat Aussies in the first two ODIs. In the second match Indian team showed all round performance with bat and ball despite in the absence of Bumrah who did not travel with the team after first match due to family reasons.
On the other hand, Australia too have rested their strike bowler, Mitchell Stark, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and regular captain, Pat Cummins too was rested for the second match. It will be entertaining to see if the both sides summons all their key players for the last outing before the World Cup.
Key Points to watch out for:
If Kohli & Sharma joins the team, who will be seated out?
Since, Suryakumar Yadav has started scoring runs deep in the middle order while Gill is at his top form currently and is irreplaceable. KL Rahul has also stitched his place with his classy batting performances and outstanding captaincy in the first two games. While Shreyas Iyer has just scored a century and will need more game time since he did not play much after coming back from the injury, Ishan Kishan on the other side has also shown his potential and capabilities over the period. Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma will have to take big decisions on whom will be seated out and who will be there on the field.
Will Ashwin lock his spot in place of Axar?
Injuries are a big hit for the teams before any multinational tournaments, just so when everything was looking perfect, India’s all-around spinner Axar Patel got injured in the recently concluded Asia cup. India opted to go with veteran spinner, Ravi Ashwin in place of Axar for the series against Australia and he has shown his legendary skills in the first two games, if Axar doesn’t get fit before World Cup Ashwin may replace him and join the squad as he also solves the batting option at number 8 spot.
