Chennai Super Kings fans must be happy with Dhoni's fiery inning came off late in the match but the team has lost yet another match meaning yet another chance to seal their position into playoffs. Chennai is still at number 4 spot in the points table with 12 points but Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru & now even Gujrat Titans are still in the playoffs race.

In the match earlier, CSK opted bowl first and regreted the decision as GTs openers Gill & Sudarshan took the bowlers on remand right from the start. The duo posted a record breaking partnership of 210 runs for first wicket. Both of them scored hundreds each, Sudarshan scored 103 runs off 51 balls with 5 fours & 7 sixes while Gill scored 104 runs off 55 balls with 9 fours & 6 sixes. Overall, Gujrat Titans scored 231 runs in 20 overs.

While chasing this huge score, Chennai couldn't have an expected start as their new equation of openers, Rahane & Rachin Ravindra couldn't stand still even till the power play, while Gaikwad who is having another best season with the bat could not even score a single run. With such a bizzare start CSK would not expect anything better in the match ahead untill Daryl Mitchell & Moin Ali rescued with their experience and attacking innings; Mitchell scored 63 off 34 balls while Moin scored 56 off 36 balls, moving forward CSK only need some firework shows from the rest of the batters. Honestly, Dubey, Jadeja & then Dhoni tried hard to finish it off with their power hitting abilities but it seems like it was too late in the party.

Though, CSK fans enjoyed 'the thala show,' he scored 26 runs off just 11 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes and a strike rate of 236.3. But it was not enough for CSK to snatch the two points from the Titans. Gill and co. are now again pumped up and in the race to the playoffs however they are too far away and probably the least possible team to get in the top four.
