Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood superstar, had plans to renovate his iconic home, Mannat. However, the project now seems to be facing an obstacle. Social activist Santosh Daundkar has raised concerns over multiple violations of Mannat's renovation plan. He has appealed to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to intervene and halt the construction work.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri, and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam are set to relocate to a rented home for the next two years. As per reports from Hindustan Times and Bar & Bench, Daundkar has filed a complaint with the NGT, alleging that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) failed to comply with regulations while obtaining the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance, which is mandatory for renovations at Mannat.

Since Mannat is classified as a Grade III heritage structure, any modifications to the property require official approval before proceeding with structural changes. Shah Rukh Khan has proposed expanding his six-story bungalow by adding two additional floors. In his appeal, activist Santosh Daundkar also accused the actor of fraud, alleging that he converted 12 one-bedroom flats designated for mass housing into a single-family residence. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed Daundkar to provide concrete evidence supporting his claims.

"If any violation of the above procedure has been committed by the Project Proponent or the MCZMA, the same may be submitted by the appellant specifically along with the evidence in support of that, within four weeks, failing which we would be left with no option but to dismiss the present appeal for non-compliance of the order of this Tribunal, at the stage of admission itself,"  On April 23, the NGT is set to hear the case, as stated by a bench comprising Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni.
