Suga, member of the popular K-Pop group BTS has been under scrutiny and facing backlash from the netizens and the media after a drunk driving incident last month. But now fans or popularly known as ARMY, across the world are showing him love and support by signing a petition.
On September 9, Monday, many fans across the world came together to support Suga by spreading messages across the social media platforms. This took place after the weekend where online trolls and haters started saying that Suga should leave BTS.
“The Global ARMY Alliance supports all seven members of BTS,” they wrote. The Global ARMY Union represents 127 groups of BTS fans not just from South Korea, but from all around the world. This message makes it very clear, that fans still love Suga and do not want him to leave BTS.
The drunk driving incident took place in Seoul on August 6 when Suga fell off an electric scooter. He was interrogated by the police and had his license revoked. Police later revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was at 0.227, which is three times the level in which a license would typically be revoked in South Korea. The case was closed by the prosecutors without a trial and Suga was let off by paying a fine.
