Box Office: RRKPK Enters 200 Cr Club; Gadar 2 Sold 45K On Pre-booking

Indian Cinema Industry is witnessing massive growth in the number of people coming to theatres as Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani enters Rs. 200 Cr on its second weekend. Whereas two big budget sequels, Gadar 2 and OMG 2 are set to clash in the Independence Day week on August 11 along with Rajinikanth’s Jailer releasing on 10 August & Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar releasing on the 11.

RRKPK which got 2 weekends in hand without any clashes with other films achieved huge success on Box office. The film grossed around Rs. 120 Cr in India while the overseas collections stand around Rs. 85 Cr with the best response came from the North America (a total gross of USD 4.72 M) whereas the film is expected to earn over USD 7 Million in North America.

Combining Indian and overseas collections the film crossed Rs. 200 Cr in total while depending on the upcoming movie releases in this week the film could even reach a final worldwide total of Rs. 300 Cr.

A major ticket booking side in India, BookMyShow has confirmed that the advance sales for the four movies releasing on August 11 & 10 are overboard. Rajanikanth’s Jailer sold 233.15 K tickets already. While report says that Gadar 2 has crossed around 45,000 tickets which can turn the film as the second biggest opening film after Pathaan.

The film will be facing a box office clash with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'. Media reports stated that if OMG 2 sees booking in the range of 50,000, then could see an open at roughly ₹7 crore.
