Sunny Deol talked about how Dharmendra and Manoj Kumar grew up in the industry, "Manojji came with our dad only. They both were together in the industry. He had always been a father figure for us, and I have always seen him with my father during childhood. My dad had a great connection with him. I would just say that the films that he did were on India, bahut pyaari thi. Usi se deshbhakti ka silsila shuru hua tha.”

Sunny Deol also shared an anecdote his father shared before leaving for Delhi, he said, "Before coming here, dad was telling me that when he was with Manojji in the early days, obviously they were struggling, he didn't have any money. Manojji used to have money sometimes and whenever he went to buy clothes, he used to tell my dad, 'Aa lele Dharam, tu vi lele do kameezaan.' So, such a beautiful bond they had from that time onwards. And, I think that time was great, that era won't come back."

Sunny Deol worked with Shah Rukh Khan for the film ‘Darr’, but according to reports, Deol and SRK had a falling out after the film's release because Khan's portrayal of a villain received more positive reviews than Deol's lead actor. In a recent interview, Sunny Deol revealed that he is open to working with Shah Rukh Khan once again after 30 years.

Sunny Deol said, "I would love to do it. I had done one film with Shah Rukh, so maybe we can do another one. It would be nice because that was a different period, and now it’s a different period, so definitely”. He further added, "Initially, the directors had control over the whole thing. These days, directors don't have much say, and we are not making the kind of stories which would justify the images of the actors. That is very important."

Currently, Sunny Deol is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Jaat’, directed by Gopichandh Malineni, starring alongside Regina Cassandra, Randeep Hooda, Ayesha Khan, Saiyami Kher, Zarina Wahab, Bandhavi Sridhar, Vishika Kota, Praneeta Patnaik and Vineet Kumar Singh.
