Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently sold two luxurious apartments in Mumbai for Rs. 11.61 crore. The apartments are located in Splender Complex Co-op Housing Society in Jogeshwari and were registered under the filmmaker’s company name, Mukta Tele Arts Private Limited.
According to the registration papers, Subhash Ghai sold both the apartments with the carpet size of 889 square feet and a built-up area of 1,067 square feet for Rs. 5.80 crore in two different transactions. A registration charge of Rs. 30,000 and stamp duty of Rs. 34.83 lakh were imposed on both the transactions separately. According to the paperwork, the residential project is a part of Oberoi Realty's Splender Complex Co-op Housing Society Ltd.
Situated in Mumbai's western suburbs, Jogeshwari has excellent access to the city's major business and entertainment hubs. The Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR), the Western Express Highway, and numerous train stations provide excellent access to it.
This is not the first time this year that Ghai has ventured into the Mumbai real estate market. He and his wife, Mukta Ghai, paid Rs 24 crores in February 2025 for a spacious 4BHK apartment in Bandra's upscale 81 Aureate Tower, which came with three parking spaces and a hefty Rs 1.44 crore stamp duty. The pair made a 47% profit on their 2016 investment of Rs 8.72 crores when they sold an apartment in Andheri for Rs 12.85 crores just one month earlier, in January.
Subhash Ghai is known for films like ‘Ram Lakhan,’ ‘Khalnayak,’ ‘Taal,’ and ‘Pardes.’ He has won multiple accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best Director for his film ‘Saudagar’.
