During the press conference for IIFA 2024 in Mumbai, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan showcased his sharp wit as he playfully teased co-host Karan Johar on stage. SRK also complimented Abhishek Banerji for his outstanding performance in Stree 2.
Abhishek, who will be co-hosting IIFA Rocks alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi, was seen admiring Shah Rukh during the event. When the Jawan star stepped onto the stage, he expressed, “Abhishek, it's wonderful to see you, especially after watching your fantastic film (Stree 2). I've been wanting to reach out to you.”
Shah Rukh also humorously commented on his long absence from IIFA, saying, “They’ve invited me only once before. Now they decide to call me after ten years. I would have loved to come earlier, but unfortunately, IIFA was scheduled during the times I was filming.”
The superstar poked fun at Karan Johar, saying, “Karan, you should join the rehearsals. He has mentioned that he won’t rehearse and prefers to do it via Zoom. When will you make some movies, brother? You can’t host all the time.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar are set to co-host the IIFA Awards this year, while IIFA Utsavam will occur simultaneously. Rana Daggubati will take the helm as host for IIFA Utsavam, which celebrates the finest in South Cinema. As Baahubali's star joined Shah Rukh and KJo on stage, he reminisced about a memorable after-party that SRK once hosted for the entire film fraternity.
