Srinagar: In an operation today in Kathua district, special forces from the army, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, neutralized three terrorists. The operation is still ongoing, as per sources. The remains of two terrorists have been recovered.
The forces engaged in this operation include the army's 1 Para, 22 Garhwal Rifles, and the Special Operations Group (SOG) from the Union Territory’s police. Earlier today, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier sustained injuries due to unprovoked gunfire from Pakistani forces in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
The BSF has stated that troops are on high alert, as they patrol the India-Pakistan international border, which spans approximately 3,323 km and encompasses various sectors characterized by differing levels of tension and security challenges.
