Actor Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai house, Mannat, will be renovated this summer. According to reports, the actor and his family would be leaving the famous Bandra residence so that the extension and remodeling projects may start. But the proposal has already encountered an obstacle. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has been called upon by an activist to intervene and halt the renovation project due to suspected irregularities in the plan.
Social activist Santosh Daundkar has accused Shah Rukh and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) of violating the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance required for repairs in Mannat, according to a report published by Bar & Bench on Monday. Since the bungalow is a Grade III heritage building, all structural alterations must be approved first. Shah Rukh intends to add two more floors to the six-story home, according to the report. Shah Rukh allegedly committed fraud by combining "12 number of 1-BHK flats for mass housing" into a single-family home, according to the appeal.
NGT asks activist to submit proof
As of right now, the NGT has directed Daundkar to provide evidence to support their claims. "If any violation of the above procedure has been committed by the Project Proponent or the MCZMA, the same may be submitted by the appellant specifically along with the evidence in support of that, within four weeks, failing which we would be left with no option but to dismiss the present appeal for non-compliance of the order of this Tribunal, at the stage of admission itself," a coram from Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh Vijay Kulkarni, an Expert Member, stated. The case is scheduled to be heard by the NGT on April 23.
