Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence, Mannat, located across from the famous Bandra Bandstand, has turned into a popular tourist spot, drawing hundreds of selfie-seeking fans daily. The iconic bungalow has been home to the actor and his family for over 25 years. However, later this year, the Khans will temporarily relocate to an apartment as the palatial home undergoes an extensive renovation.
According to sources, renovation work at Mannat is scheduled to begin in May. This includes a long-awaited extension of the bungalow, for which Shah Rukh Khan had to obtain court approval. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, any structural modifications require official permissions. With the renovations set to start in a few months, Shah Rukh and his family will temporarily move to a new residence.
Shah Rukh Khan, along with his wife Gauri and children – Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam – are moving to four floors of a luxury apartment building in Bandra's Pali Hill area. According to the report, Shah Rukh has rented these floors from film producer Vashu Bhagnani. His company, Red Chillies Entertainment, signed a leave and license agreement with Bhagnani's son, Jackky Bhagnani, and daughter, Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the property, Puja Casa.
According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan is renting four floors of a luxury apartment building to accommodate his family, security team, staff, and some office space. Although the space isn't as expansive as Mannat, it is sufficient for his security and other staff members. He is reportedly paying ₹24 lakh per month for the rental.
Shah Rukh and his team are also taking measures to ensure the family's safety and privacy at the new residence. A report by Business Standard revealed that the actor has leased two duplex apartments located on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of the building. The lease agreement is for three years, although it's uncertain if the family will stay for the entire duration. Sources suggest the renovation work at Mannat could take up to two years to complete.
