Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is once again at the center of security concerns as he faces serious death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The situation grew even more alarming after the passing of his close friend, Baba Siddiqui, leading to a significant increase in his security. However, despite the heightened risks, Salman remains undeterred and continues to fulfill his professional commitments, including film shoots and promotional events. Currently, he is actively promoting his upcoming movie, Sikandar, showcasing his unwavering dedication to work amidst ongoing threats.
Lawrence Bishnoi has reportedly harbored a long-standing grudge against Salman Khan over the alleged killing of a blackbuck during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Bishnoi community, which considers the blackbuck sacred, was deeply offended by the incident. During a 2018 court appearance in Jodhpur, Bishnoi made a bold statement, saying, "We will kill Salman Khan. Everyone will know once we take action. I have not done anything yet, but they are accusing me of crimes for no reason." The threat became even more serious when unidentified assailants opened fire at Salman’s residence in April 2024.
The actor was interacting with a group of media as he promoted his movie 'Sikandar". Reacting to whether he's scared with all the death threats he's been receiving, the actor said, "Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hal. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hal, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai."
Salman Khan returns with an Eid release, Sikandar, directed by Ghajini fame AR Murugadoss. At the recent trailer launch event, the actor expressed his confidence in the film’s success, stating that he expects it to surpass the ₹200 crore mark. He said, "Picture achi ho ya buri ho, par Eid, Diwali aise sab time pe aati hai toh woh Rs 100 crore toh paar kara hi dete hain Rs 100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hain, ab Rs 200 crore."
