Salman Khan Death Threat Case Takes Turn as Accused Found Mentally Unstable

Salman Khan receives fresh death threat via WhatsApp; FIR filed, suspect traced to Gujarat. Security tightened as Mumbai Police continue probe into the case.

In yet another alarming incident, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received a fresh death threat, prompting a swift response from the Mumbai Police. According to officials, a threatening message was sent to the WhatsApp number of the Worli Traffic Control Room on Sunday. The message warned of a planned attack on Salman Khan at his residence and mentioned a possible explosion targeting his vehicle. Acting on the seriousness of the threat, the Worli Police registered an FIR against an unknown individual and began an investigation into the matter.

Initial tracking led authorities to a 26-year-old man residing in a village near Vadodara, Gujarat. A notice has been issued to him, directing him to appear before the Worli Police within the next few days. Preliminary reports suggest that the individual may be mentally unstable and is currently undergoing treatment. The case remains under active investigation by the Worli Police, who are assessing all angles before drawing further conclusions.

Security has been intensified outside actor Salman Khan’s residence following a recent death threat. As per Mumbai Police, the threat—warnings of plans to kill the actor and detonate his vehicle were sent through WhatsApp to the official number of the Worli Transport Department.

A case has been filed at Worli police station, and the investigation is currently in progress. Earlier, DCP Zone 3, Datta Kamble, informed  that a threatening message targeting Salman Khan was received on Sunday via the WhatsApp number of the Worli Transport Department. In response, Mumbai Police registered the case under Sections 351(2) and 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

" A threat message was received for Salman Khan on Worli Transport Department’s WhatsApp number yesterday. A case was registered in the matter. Investigation underway,” said DCP Datta Kamble. 
In the WhatsApp message, Mumbai Police said that the person threatened Salman with death by claiming to “barge into his house” and “blow up actor Salman Khan’s car with a bomb”.

“Threat sent to the WhatsApp number of the Transport Department in Worli, Mumbai. It was given on Sunday. Actor Salman Khan was threatened with death by barging into his house. There was also a threat to blow up actor Salman Khan’s car with a bomb,” said Mumbai Police earlier today.

This isn’t the first time Salman Khan has been the target of a death threat. In November of the previous year, Mumbai Police received a threatening message allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. According to officials, the message presented the actor with two choices: to either issue an apology or pay ₹5 crore to ensure his safety. The threatening note, sent to the Mumbai Police traffic control room, invoked the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and warned of deadly consequences unless the actor complied with specific demands. A follow-up message, believed to be from Bishnoi’s brother, reinforced the threat, asserting the gang’s continued presence and intent.

This incident marked the second threat directed at Salman Khan within the span of a week at that time. An earlier message, also received by the Traffic Control unit, demanded ₹2 crore from the actor.Professionally, Salman Khan was most recently seen in the action-packed film Sikandar, which also features Rashmika Mandanna in a leading role.
