Star pair in the Bollywood Alia Bhatt & Ranveer Singh starrer and directed by Karan Johar Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is all set to hit the big screens this Friday, 28th July. But even before the 4 days of the release the makers have recovered the 90% of the invested amount; know how:
The reported estimated budget of the film is ranked around Rs. 160 Cr with adding around Rs. 18 Cr for the promotional activities as the duo Alia & Ranveer both can be seen doing the grand City-tours to promote their film. Therefore, the total budget of the film goes more or less around whooping Rs. 178 Cr. Now the reports says that the digital rights of the film are sold to Rs. 80 Cr to Amazon Prime Video while the Satellite rights to colours in Rs. 50 Cr.

Adding to that the music rights of the film are sold to Saregama for around Rs. 30 Cr. All these marks that the film has already earned Rs. 160 Cr even before releasing in the theatres. Now the makers need business of around Rs. 40 Cr to be in profit which given to the hype of the film seems very easy and can be earned through the opening weekend only.
On the other side, the film received its censor certificate on 19th July, the makers had to undergo many minor changes in the dialogues. References to Lok Sabha and the mention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee was ascked to chop off. Apart from that, a dialogue in a lingerie shop scene was termed as ‘degrading women’ and got removed, whereas the word ‘bra’ was replaced with ‘item’.
Abusive words and slangs also got removed from the movie along with the change in the name of the liquor brand ‘Old Monk’ to ‘Bold Monk’.
The film will release in theatres on 28th July. Karan Johar will be back to Director’s chair after 7 years. While the duo Alia Bhatt & Ranveer Singh will be back together after their previous hit Gully Boy (2019).
