Nawazuddin’s daughter Shora Siddiqui is just 14 years in age and goes to a school in London. Recently, in conversation with a media portal, Nawazuddin opened up on the pressure he puts on his daughter to cultivate a good taste in acting.

He said, “Art is not a regular thing, you have to develop a taste for it. I have been pushing my kids to appreciate and learn about art. My daughter is 14 years old and she is already doing Shakespeare workshops, in London. From a very early age, I used to put hardcore pressure on them to decide what they wanted to see, otherwise, they’d get lost because there was so much meaningless content everywhere so you’d have to be selective about what you want to watch and not watch.”

When asked, how did he manage to get his children to read literature and poetry, while the young generation usually spend their time online, he replied, “Read Manto, Premchand, Bharat Muni’s Natyashashtra… we have great writers in our country.” He also said that there needs to be a change in the way children are raised, “The whole ecosystem is to be blamed. Entire fabric will have to be changed.”
